§ 6.04.130. Livestock.

A.

It is unlawful for livestock to be at large at any time upon the roads, streets, or alleys of the county or upon any premises except those owned or rented by the owner or custodian of said livestock.

It is and shall be the duty of any animal control officer of the county to seize and impound any and all horses, mules, donkeys, burros, cattle, sheep, goats, llamas, buffalo, pigs, or other livestock found running at large.

C.

In the case of livestock disturbing the peace, there shall be an attempt to contact the owner at his home. A warning shall be issued. If the owner is not present or does not heed the warning, the animal may be impounded. Such animal taken up and impounded shall not be released until the owner or person entitled to have possession thereof, shall provide evidence or affidavit of ownership and shall pay all fees as described in subsection (D) of this section.

D.

Any impounded livestock may be redeemed by the owner prior to the sale or destruction of such animal, by paying all charges against the same. Animal care and control shall charge a board fee of $5.00 per day per animal, an impound fee of $25.00 per animal, any hauling fee incurred during the impoundment process, and any other expenses incurred in boarding or caring for such animal.
